Whistle Stop Chains

Apparently the Irondale Cafe owners (which brand themselves and their products with the title "The Original Whistle Stop Cafe") is cooking up a concept to create a chain of Whistle Stop Cafes with Southern food and a railroad theme. I'm totally in. I'd eat there all the time. To read their proposition go here: Whistle Stop Cafe concept.

I'd also like to invest... the no money that I have (but I would totally invest if I did.)

Gallery

If you haven't checked it out yet - I've uploaded hundreds of new photos into the recently fixed Coppermine Gallery (a.k.a. "Ninny's Shoebox"). For those non-U.S. residents, this may be the only way you can see some of the deleted scenes that are on the U.S. DVD copies.

Craftie crazies

And speaking of knitting... just found this gal (Saucy Threadgoode) on a blog post:

Good Yarns: A Tomato, A Basket, And A Square

(Technically I think she was crocheted.)

Here's a link to the awesome free monster tomato pattern that Sue of the above site created Saucy from: Monster Crochet

(I'd also love a pet monster eyeball tomato ... ya know... if you're bored.)

Green Tomato Hat

Just stumbled upon this beauty at Morehouse Farm:

Green Tomato Hat Pattern (Property of MoreHouse Farm)

If anyone would like to knit one for me - I'd proudly wear it. :)

Blog One

Hi, I'm Erin! I'm the proprietress of "Fried Green Obsession" - the first FRIED GREEN TOMATOES fansite on the net! Fried Green Obsession has been in existence since 1997 and I continue to update it as often as time allows. Currently I update the site about news (site related and otherwise) by posting an announcement in the bulletin board but I thought a blog-based update system might be easier to read and manage. So this is the first post and I'm hoping to integrate it within the site seamlessly.
